Farming 300 head of beef and 100 of sheep, Katie James is both farm worker and administrator and has been using Livestock Information Service (LIS) online to report sheep movements since the initial change over from ARAMS. At first Katie had a few difficulties setting up a new account, but the LIS Support Team helped sort everything out. She now uses LIS to report the movement of around 80 sheep a month on or off the farm.
Katie shares her thoughts on LIS: “I found out about it through our sister business, an abattoir, where electronic movement reporting is compulsory. Setting up the account was very easy, and once you find your way around the site, it is much more user friendly than its predecessor. I now use the service three times a week, every week – it’s a lot quicker than paper forms!”
