This April, we are focusing on encouraging sheep, goat and deer keepers who use the Livestock Information Service (LIS) to check and update their details. Specifically, we are asking LIS users to check they are registered with the correct email address and are using the correct CPH numbers.
The messaging for the campaign will predominantly run across LI’s social media channels but will also be supported by a targeted email to LIS newsletter subscribers. The LIS support team and Customer Service Centre at the RPA will also support this activity when dealing with incoming telephone queries from sheep, goat and deer keepers.
The activity highlights the practical, everyday benefits of maintaining accurate information. The process is quick, simple, and essential for maintaining account security and uninterrupted access to the service. Accurate records also improve the reliability of traceability data supplied by LIS.
To check your details are correct, you can log in to your LIS account (if you know your login details) and view your email address and CPH information on your profile. If required, you can update the email address on your account by going to your username in the top right corner of the screen and selecting ‘change email’. You can also watch our step-by-step video on the process of changing your email here. If you are struggling to log into your LIS account, or you don’t know your login details, please contact the LIS Support Team – 03300 416 577 or email support@livestockinformation.org.uk.
Alongside driving keepers to report their movements digitally, the campaign supports a wider data cleanse exercise being conducted by the British Cattle Movement Service (BCMS), improving the accuracy and reliability of user records. This is particularly important as we prepare to transition the Cattle Tracing System (CTS) onto the new LIS for cattle in the near future, as well as upgrading the existing LIS for sheep, goat and deer records onto an enhanced system further down the line.
